*********************

I have created a New Zealand marine habitat and it includes 3 creatures that live there, one endemic, one native and one introduced.

The marine habitat is all water from top to bottom. At the top the water is lighter and then as the ocean goes down it gradually gets darker, but at the bottom it is really dark and more uglier creatures live there. Where it is shallow for example the beach shore its is warmer and where is is deeper it is colder. The ocean floor is sand or rock sometimes even both. Seaweed grows out of the sand and can get pretty tall, little fish hide in that seaweed from sharks or other predators.
The New Zealand marine habitat is cold, it is around 13 to 16 degrees celsius. Under the surface of the sea it  can be wavy or calm depending on the place or wind above water the water.

The endemic animal I used was a Hector's dolphin it is an endangered species. It is the same size as most dolphins, it is black and white. It lives only in New Zealand that's why it’s endemic although it could swim to Australia. It has short snout smaller than most other dolphins. They live for about 20 years. Can be found all over New Zealand but very rare. The hectors dolphin eats smaller fishes. They weigh between 40 and 60 kgs and are 1.5 metres in length.

For the native creature I chose leopard seal, it is a grey and black seal. The Leopard seal is a bit smaller than most seals which means they can swim faster and get away from predators faster, their predators are killer whales. The leopard seal is not endangered there still about 222,000 of them left. Females grow faster than males. Found in colder places like Stewart island. This seal eats small fish.

Last but not least the introduced elephant seal it is a weird looking seal it has a tiny trunk above its mouth and is fat, big and powerful. It can be light grey or dark grey, it is the biggest seal in New Zealand it is found in the Auckland area or can also be found around Kaikoura and Nelson
The elephant seal is really rare. This seal eats medium too small fishes.

The Hectors dolphin, Leopard seal and Elephant seal are all live in the New Zealand marine habitat.
